Okotoks Parade and Children's Festival

to

A big thank you to everyone who participated in this year's Parade. We had a record number of floats and an incredible turn out from the community. An independent panel of judges has chosen the winning floats for each category. Congratulations to this year's winners!

Parade Day

The Parade and Children's Festival has grown into one of the largest annual events in Okotoks. Bring the whole family out for a full day of entertainment and activities at the Annual Parade Day, held each June. Bands, floats, dancers, horses and fire trucks are all part of the proceedings that wind throughout downtown.

This year we welcome you to the Alberta Summer Games 2023 Parade! Join us as we celebrate all things sport in anticipation of the upcoming Games hosted by Okotoks and Black Diamond (Diamond Valley) from July 20-23, 2023.

Road Closures

The Parade will require a road closure of South Railway Street, Riverside Drive, Northridge Drive, Elizabeth Street, McRae Street and North Railway Street from Stockton Avenue to Northridge Drive from 8:00am to 2:30pm.

  • Lineham Avenue to Stockton Avenue – 8:00am until 2:30pm
  • Lineham Avenue west to Northridge Drive and South Railway to Northridge Drive – 10:00am until 2:30pm

Our team does it’s best to accommodate vehicles needing to access or leave their residence or business during the road closure times. However, once the parade starts at 11:00am it is not possible to walk out vehicles safely.

Bike Valet

Tired of driving around trying to find parking before a major community event? This year we are bringing something new to encourage active transportation, a bike valet! You can ride your bike right down to the event zone and park it at the bike valet free of charge. Your bike will be safely monitored by volunteers while you enjoy the event and you can pick it up when you're finished.

The Bike Valet will be located behind the big Okotoks letters, on the corner of Clark Ave and McRae Street. It will be open from 10:00am to 3:00pm and any bikes left at the valet after 3:00pm will be left unattended, and can be picked up by their owners at anytime.

Lion's Club Pancake Breakfast

On Saturday morning from 8:00am to 10:00am the Okotoks Lions Club will be hosting their annual parade breakfast in the parking lot of Canada Post (27 McRae St).

Breakfast is by donation; all proceeds collected by the Lions Club of Okotoks will go towards the Hot Lunch Program!

Children's Festival

The Children's Festival will take place at Ethel Tucker Park at the Arts & Learning Plaza (7 Riverside Drive) from 11:30am to 3:00pm and is always a hit with families.
