Nature Friday: Outer Space


It might seem far away, but outer space has some strong connections to our natural world on earth, from the tides, to the climate. Our atmosphere and the ozone layer keep harmful UV rays out. This week at Nature Friday, learn all about the link between outer space and our home planet.

There will be an educational video, a marble paint craft and moon phase activity for this week’s topic!

Here's what we've got going on this week:

8 AM - 4 PMExplore: Open to the public to explore

10 AM

Craft time! Get a little messy and create your interpretation of space and the galaxy with a fun marble-paint craft

1 PM

Watch & Wonder: Video: Spaced Out: Crash Course Kids

2:30 PM

Activity and education time: Learn about phases of the moon with a demonstration and worksheet.

Please note: parents must stay with their children while they are in the Environmental Education Centre.

Hours: the Environmental Education Centre is open Monday to Friday to the public from 8 AM to 4 PM. On Fridays a staff member will be on hand running activities, and will be available to chat with the public and answer any questions.
