Nature Friday: Fantastic Fungi

  • What do you call a mushroom encyclopedia? A fung-guide to mushrooms! Join us at the Environmental Education Centre this week to explore the world of the fleshy, spore-bearing fruit of various fungi, also known as mushrooms! There will be educational videos exploring the cap-tivating tales of this species, along with a fun craft made from recycled materials and more! 

    Here's what we've got going on this week:

    CREATE: Get crafty and make mushrooms from cardboard and egg cartons 
    WATCH & LEARNTune into videos that cover the various types of Fungi
    EXPLORE: See a variety of fungi and mushroom close up as we take part in making mushroom cap prints 

    Please note: parents must stay with their children while they are in the Environmental Education Centre.

    Hours: The Environmental Education Centre is open Monday through Friday to the public from 8 AM to 4 PM. On Fridays, a staff member will be on hand running activities and will be available to chat with the public and answer any questions.
