Indigenous Artisan Market Day 1

  • to
  • The Town of Okotoks is set to host its second annual Indigenous Artisan Market, “Iitohpoom’op,” (Blackfoot word for store). This year, the market has doubled in size and will include more than 100 Indigenous, First Nation and Métis artists and creators from across the country selling their unique crafts and art. All sale proceeds go directly to the Indigenous artists and creators.

New this year, the community is invited to visit a Tipi Camp, located outside of the market from May 31 to June 2. The Tipi camp honours the Town's 2023 Tipi transfer and brings together important partners for conversation and ceremony.

The Indigenous Artisan Market & Tipi Camp are part of the Town’s commitment to advancing Truth and Reconciliation, and create opportunity to celebrate Indigenous culture, identity and art – just in time for National Indigenous People's History Month, which runs throughout June.

The market and Tipi camp are free to attend, and food will be available for purchase onsite. Find the full schedule of events at the link below.
