The new multi-use, community outdoor boarded rink will be open year-round, with ice during the natural ice season (approximately December to late-February), and will be able to accommodate activities such as lacrosse, floor hockey and in-line skating in the off-ice season. The rink is designed to be used for un-programmed, drop-in leisure activities with the potential for booking opportunities in the future.
Project Budget: $1 M
Project Status: Construction underway
Location: 53 Cimarron Dr at John Paul II Collegiate Junior High School. The approved site is jointly owned by the Town and Christ The Redeemer Catholic School Division and is zoned as a Recreation and Open Space District which supports the scope of the project. The rink will be located in the oversized parking lot area, currently used for sport court activities.
