The Town of Okotoks has completed a draft land use bylaw amendment fin reference to the lands that were annexed into Okotoks on July 1, 2017.
The proposed bylaw will bring the annexed lands under the administration of the Town of Okotoks’ Land Use Bylaw while retaining the same permitted and discretionary uses as in the Municipal District of Foothills’ (MD) Land Use Bylaw. The bylaw allows for the continuation of those land uses which were legally operating within the MD prior to annexation.
The draft bylaw (second reading) and maps are available for review under the Related Publications tab on this page.
Note: The First Reading version of proposed Bylaw 21-18 incorrectly listed “Recreation Vehicle Storage” as a site specific use in the Country Residential (RC) District for Plan 8284HU Block 3. The proposed designation of the subject parcel is Agriculture (A) District and therefore this site specific use has been moved to the Agriculture (A) District.
