In keeping with Council’s strategic directions of providing quality community infrastructure and managing community growth, the Town of Okotoks will be upgrading the equipment and surfacing at the Cedar Grove (103 Lock Crescent) playground this summer.
Cedar Grove Playground Improvements
With input from the neighbourhood, the playground equipment selection has been finalized. Canadian Recreation Solutions submitted the winning proposal and the new design will include a total of 6 swings, a new structure with several climbing components, and several stand-alone pieces of play equipment (see image below).
With the playground equipment selection finalized, we have scheduled construction to start on August 20, weather permitting. This will involve the closure and removal of the existing playground, grading of the site, and the installation of the new playground! The work is expected to take 3-4 weeks to complete.
Please check back here for more updates, and please watch for and obey any construction signage in the park.
An open house was held on April 18 to discuss playground equipment options and more. To find out what we heard from those that attended the open house, please click the button below. To read articles from the media about the project, see the links on the right.
