Updated: September 2, 2020

Changes have been made at the Recreation Centre to protect its users and adhere to Alberta Health Services (AHS) guidelines.

Changes include:
Lane Swim:

The current solo and cohort lane swims will be deleted. Booked lane swim will be used – these will be double lane spaces that will have a capacity of 4 patrons who will need to physical distance while swimming.

Public Swim:

The current cohort leisure swims will be deleted. Booked Publics Swim will be used. There is two options:

  • Booked Public Swim (Swindells’ Pool) – this swim will be only in Swindells pool and have a capacity of 30 bookable spots available. Each member of a family/cohort will need to book a spot. Patrons will need to physical distance from non-cohort patrons.
  • Booked Public Swim (Swindells + RMP) – this swim will be in both Swindells and RMP pools and have a capacity of 40 bookable spots. Each member of a family/cohort will need to book a spot. Patrons will need to physical distance from non-cohort patrons.

No change from current titles, descriptions or capacities. There will be time changes.

Patrons will need to continue physical distancing from non-cohort patrons.

Adult / Diversity Swim:

This swim was formally Adult Swim or Diversity Swim

Booked Open Fitness - New bookable activity will be created. – This swim provides times for patrons to perform a variety of exercise activities and is not limited to lane swimming. This space will not have lane ropes so patrons will have plenty of space to move as needed. This is also a time for our diverse patrons and aids to come and enjoy the pools. Aids coming into the pool will need to be booked in by calling Client Services. This swim has a capacity of 12 bookable spots. Patrons will need to physical distance from non-cohort patrons. Times will be available in Swindells and/or Riley Minue Pool.

Change Rooms:

Inclusive change rooms have been created to maximize the amount of change rooms open, as well as enhance cleaning measures. This means all change rooms will be gender neutral, with private changing and bathroom stalls.

Swimmers are being asked to come dressed in their bathing suits. Upon arrival, users will pick up at Tote 2 Table bin and place their belongings and clothing in the bin. These totes will be stored on tables on the pool deck.
