About the Artist:
Christine Pedersen is a Calgary clay and metal artist. Christine has worked in clay since her early teens, and studied in the Jewellery + Metals Program at Alberta College of Art + Design. Christine is a member of the Alberta Craft Council, Alberta Potters Association, and the Metal Arts Guild of Canada.
Christine likes to hand-build in clay – using local clays sourced in Alberta. She describes the rhythm of having a number of pieces underway, working with the clay’s moisture and physical ability to hold itself up, so that a form evolves over time. The medium allows time to reflect and respond.
