Discover the natural and human history of the Sheep River valley. This exhibits focuses on the vital role the river has played in our community’s history and continues to have in present-day.
Photographs and artifacts will illustrate the importance of the river as a water source, for recreation and industry as well as for wildlife that reside in the valley. Among the items on display will be a set of horns from a Big Horn Sheep, graciously loaned by the Alberta Hunter Education Instructors Association in Calgary.
This exhibit complements the free, guided Sheep River Walks which are hosted each year in Okotoks. This fall, a Sheep River Walk will be held Saturday, September 29 at 2 pm. Meet at the Okotoks Museum and Archives.
