About Julia:
Singer/ Songwriter Julia Roar resides in Okotoks with her husband and two children. Her music typically falls under the Country/ Folk genre and is warm, inviting, and from the heart. She enjoys connecting with her audience and aims to use music as a platform to further both mental health awareness and the Gospel message. At the age of 40 (nearly two years ago now), Julia began her recent part-time music career, performing in the Foothills Folk Club (High River) and the Ship And Anchor (Calgary) song writing contests in the spring of 2019, where she placed Third and won Best Performance (Newcomer Category) respectfully. Later that same year, she released her first CD, ‘Mountain Gal’ (available on iTunes, Spotify, CD Baby, Apple Music etc.), and is currently working toward a single release of ‘Nova Scotia Night’, available this spring/ summer 2020. Music has been an important tool for Julia in the ongoing process of emotional healing and sanctification. She hopes to enrich her repertoire by offering Music Therapy (within the context of Biblical Counselling) and produce more of her songs in the future. Julia adores spending time with her family and friends, studying God’s Word, long walks with the family dog, and deep, authentic, fellowship.
