Picnic at the Piano with Steve Fletcher

Wednesday, May 22, 2019 - 12:00pm to 1:00pm

Bring a picnic lunch and a blanket and join us for a free, outdoor, family-friendly concert at the downtown plaza throughout the summer months. In the event of poor weather, the event will move to RPAC, 3 Elma Street E.

Steve Fletcher

Keyboardist Steve Fletcher’s passion for numerous styles of music, as well as his proficiency on many different keyboard instruments such as piano, electric piano, organ, accordion, and synthesizers, has enabled him to carve a niche in the Alberta music scene as an eclectic performer and in demand session musician.

Over the past 20 years he has performed and recorded with countless artists, and has toured throughout North America, Europe and Japan. He has opened for such notable jazz artists as Medeski Martin & Wood, The Bad Plus, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Cassandra Wilson, and John Abercrombie.

He won a 2012 Canadian Folk Music Award, and was nominated for a Juno in 2013. His Hammond B-3 organ based group Sinistrio has been an active part of the Canadian jazz scene since 2006. They have released 4 records through Chronograph Records.
