Light Up Okotoks is brought to you in part by

Join us for the kick off to the holiday season.  Festivities typically include a visit from Santa, wagon rides, craft sales, fireworks & much more!

Event day road closure:  Elizabeth Street, McRae Street, and North Railway Street to Lineham Avenue will be closed to vehicles from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday, November 15.

At the Downtown Plaza Stage

  • Live Choir Performance beginning at 5:30 pm and running until 6:45 pm
  • Mayor and Council arrive-Welcome Ceremonies 6:45 pm
  • Visit from Santa, 6:50 pm
  • Lighting of Community Christmas Tree, 7 pm
  • Foothills Philharmonic Choir performance, 7:30 -8:00 pm

Along McRae Street

  • Candy Cane Lane, by Okotoks GM -   5:30-9 pm

Triangle Park

  • S’mores Station by Save-on-Foods - 5:30-9 pm 

Along Elizabeth Street

  • Christmas Market, Elks Lodge, 4-9 pm
  • Sugar Shack, Prairie Management & Realty - maple toffee on a stick, 5:30-9 pm
  • Free Glow Sticks, Gentleman Electric 5:30-9 pm 
  • Sneak-a-peek of the NEW Okotoks Transit vehicle parked by the Municipal Centre--the on-demand ride-sharing service that goes “curb-to-curb” starts Monday, December 2!  

At the Okotoks Art Gallery & Museum

At the  Okotoks Public Library

  • Light Up the Library 5:30-8:30pm: Make a donation of $2, $5, $10, or $20 and help decorate the Library's Christmas tree for the holidays!  All funds collected are in support of the OPL Expansion Fund.
  • Holiday Cheer with the Okotoks Library Board 5:30-7:00pm: Enjoy cookies and chocolate milk served by members of the Okotoks Library Board, while enjoying festive ukulele musical entertainment.
  • Novel-Tea Fundraiser 5:30-8:30PM:  Purchase a package of custom-blend Sleepy-Time tea by TotaliTea in support of the Okotoks Library Expansion fund (cash or debit only).  Small gift baskets will be available to purchase as well.  $10 each or 3 for $25.
  • Holiday Silent Auction November 12-December 15:  Looking for that perfect holiday gift for a special someone?  Check out the amazing items featured in our holiday silent auction!  All proceeds support the Okotoks Library Expansion Fund.

Support those in Need!

  • Drop off food/cash donation for the Food Bank at the 18 Wheels of Christmas! 
  • Western Wheel Cares 50/50 for local charities
  • Drop off NEW scarves, gloves, hats, socks, slippers, baby items and family board games at the Okotoks Art Gallery to decorate the Tree of Warmth for local charities
  • Drop off food Bank donations for the Okotoks and Veterans Food Banks at the Elks Lodge. They are also accepting pet food and toy donations for Heaven Can Wait.
  • Drop off new, unwrapped gifts and gift cards for children ages 18 & under at the Library--in support of the Salvation Army Foothills Community Ministries.

Incident Command Centre 

Should you need assistance at any point during Light Up, the Incident Command Centre will be located beside the Municipal Centre on Veterans Way to serve as a central point for:
