Property Inspections

As per Section 294 of the Municipal Government Act Assessors have the right to enter and inspect property for the purpose of preparing an assessment.

Assessors are collecting data from Property Owners, Alberta Land titles, the Real Estate Multiple Listing Service and Financial Institutions in order to prepare assessments. Detailed information about each property is also gathered by making on-site inspections.

As part of our requirement, an inspection of each property in the Town of Okotoks will be performed every five years. Assessors will have I.D. cards.

Public Notice of Residential Property Inspections
As per Section 294 of the Municipal Government Act, Assessors have the right to enter and inspect property for the purpose of preparing an assessment. Properties are inspected on a five year cycle within the town of Okotoks. Assessors are collecting data from Property Owners, Alberta Land titles, the Real Estate Multiple Listing Service and Financial Institutions in order to prepare assessments. Detailed information about each property is also gathered by making onsite inspections.
 
Assessors with Town identification will knock on your door. If residents are not home and more information is required, a call-back card will be left to make an appointment.
