Okotoks Youth Centre

Welcome to the Okotoks Youth Centre (OYC), a youth-friendly facility for youth aged 12-18 (teens aged 18 are welcome until they graduate Grade 12).

The youth centre is located on the lower level of the Okotoks Recreation Centre, adjacent to the skate park. It has been equipped specifically for youth with a TV lounge that has a flat screen TV and PlayStation 3 gaming consoles, a pool table, air hockey table, movie nights, a kitchen with snacks and beverages to purchase, a homework area with computers and workstations, and a multi-purpose area for games, programs, and activities.

The OYC is a safe environment and is supervised by trained, responsible staff on-site during all operational hours.

Monthly Event Calendars

Check out youth events on our Facebook page, or view our drop in recreation schedule.

Each month is jam-packed with fun activities to participate in! The OYC regularly hosts movie nights, PSIII competitions, DDR dance-offs, arts and crafts projects and other fun activities. The monthly events calendar will also be posted at the Youth Centre so check out the various competitions, movie nights, and themed events scheduled all year long.

Friday Teen Night

Check out the Friday Teen Nights! The Youth Centre is open from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. and is free-of-charge, as usual. Access to the Gymnasium and Pool will begin at 8 p.m. and the cost is $2.00. Snacks will be available for purchase at the Youth Centre concession.

Teen Night Access

All teens must carry their Friday Teen Night (FTN) Identification Card with them at all times. To get your FTN ID Card, please bring in a current piece of picture ID with you to Client Services, ensure your contact information is up-to-date and get your picture taken. Lost or stolen cards can be replaced for $5. Teens must be able to present their FTN ID card to Okotoks Recreation Centre Staff each Friday night prior to admittance into the building.

Tween Time

The Okotoks Youth Centre hosts Tween Time every Friday during the school year (except for PD Days and school breaks). This is an opportunity for children between the ages of 8 and 11 years old to experience what the OYC has to offer and gain some independence from their parents.

Admittance is $2 (Grade 5’s Get Active passholders get in for free). Tweens are supervised by trained staff at all times while they are in the OYC. Parents and tweens are encouraged to discuss when and how they are to leave the program to attending.

Check the drop-in recreation schedule for dates and times
