Community Program Guide

The Community Guide is published in March, August and December each year and delivered directly to homes in Okotoks and the MD of Foothills. We deliver the guide one week before the registration start date to give you more time to plan! Use our community guide to find aquatics, arts and culture, family and community, personal development, fitness and wellness, and sports programs for all ages in Okotoks. Then use our online registration tool to book your spot.

Distribution Dates

Okotoks Households

Your guide will be delivered in the Western Wheel on Wednesday, March 4.

Rural/MD of Foothills Residents

IMPORTANT REMINDER: Community guides will now be delivered to residential mailboxes through Canada Post, arriving the week of March 2. Note: households who do not receive flyers or ad mail will not receive a guide.

Pick Up a Guide

Guides are also available for pick up at the Okotoks Recreation Centre, the Okotoks Library, the Municipal Centre and the Okotoks Visitor Centre, beginning Wednesday, March 4.

Registration Start Dates

Registration for the Summer Community Guide starts:

  • Thursday, March 12 at 6 a.m. for residents of the Town of Okotoks and MD of Foothills residents
  • Sunday, March 15 at 9 a.m. for non-residents

The Community Guide is one of the most widely read publications in Okotoks. It is produced three times a year and provides advertising and promotional opportunities for not-for-profit organizations, clubs and businesses. Over 15,000 copies are printed each session and distributed widely throughout Okotoks and the surrounding area. Cancellation, Withdrawal and Transfer Policies

Cancellations
  • All classes are subject to cancellation if there are insufficient registrations.
  • We will notify you as soon as a decision regarding class cancellation has been made.
  • If the Town of Okotoks cancels the course, you are entitled to a full refund or you may transfer to another program, space permitting.
Withdrawals
  • If you withdraw from a course 7 or more days from the start date a $10 fee for each withdrawal is charged and the balance of the course fee can be refunded or a credit put on your account. Credits can be applied towards another Town sponsored activity and expire within 1 year of the date the credit was issued.
  • If you withdraw from a course less than 7 days from the start date there will be no refund.
Transfers
  • All transfers are subject to space availability.
  • A $10 fee for each transfer is charged, plus any applicable course fees. If a transfer results in a credit then a credit is refunded or put on your account.   Credits can be applied towards another Town sponsored activity and expire within 1 year of the date the credit was issued.
  • If a course is started, transfers depend on a programmer’s approval.
Medical Circumstances
  • Withdrawals and transfers for medical reasons are permitted with no penalty prior to the start of a course and with a doctor’s medical note.
  • After the start of a course, the withdrawal will be effective from the date of the doctor’s medical note and must be received by Community Services prior to the program end date.
Waiting Lists

If a program is full, please express your interest by putting your name on the waiting list. You will be contacted if a space becomes available or an additional class is scheduled.
