iNaturalist - Be a citizen scientist!

From your backyard, to our green spaces, to the great Sheep River and River Valley! Every wild animal, insect, plant, and fungus counts, so get out there and get exploring! Simply snap a photo and share it on the iNaturalist App to participate! When you participate in the Town’s iNaturalist projects, you help to create data that will help the scientific community better understand and protect nature in Okotoks and all over Canada. 

Take Part in Okotoks Projects!

The Town has an ongoing biodiversity monitoring project that was started in 2022. You can explore, contribute and enjoy anytime. Every year the Town also offers various iNaturalist BioBlitz, to encourage residents to become citizen scientists! Some of the Town’s past projects include migratory birds, pollinators, and native wildflowers.
