The Town of Okotoks has launched a new online tool, Citizen Budget, for residents to participate in the 2018 budget process.
Citizen Budget is an interactive and educational tool that has investment sliders for each area, which residents can select to either maintain, increase or decrease the Town’s current service levels.
There are four areas (Parks, Recreation & Culture; Public Works & Transportation; Protective Services and Development Services) where residents can select the amount of tax dollars they wish to allocate and includes a survey which provides an opportunity to identify specific priorities that residents want to see undertaken.
The information gathered through this tool will be considered by Okotoks Town Council and Administration as part of the 2018 budget process. Other factors that Council must take into consideration include inflation, the town’s growing population, Council priorities, and necessary service level changes.
Citizen Budget will be available until July 9.
Thank you for participating!
