Okotoks Youth Centre
The Okotoks Youth Centre is located in the basement of the Okotoks Recreation Centre, across from the skate park.
Winter Hours of Operation (January 8 to June 28):
Welcome to the Okotoks Youth Centre, a youth-friendly facility for youth aged 12-18. The Youth Centre is located on the lower level of the Okotoks Recreation Centre, adjacent to the skate park. The Youth Centre has been equipped specifically for youth with a TV lounge that has a flat screen TV and playstation 3 gaming console, a kitchen with snacks and beverages to purchase, a homework area with computers and workstations, and a multi-purpose area for games, programs, and activities. The OYC is a safe environment and is supervised by trained, responsible staff on-site during all operational hours.

Our Facebook page also offers up to date information regarding programs and activities held for youth either at the Okotoks Youth Centre or around town.
Each month is jam-packed with fun activities to participate in! The OYC regularly hosts movie nights, PSIII competitions, DDR Dance-offs, arts and crafts projects and other fun filled activities. Stay tuned to learn more about our Easter, Youth Week and summer activities. There are some great events and activities planned! The monthly events calendar will also be posted at the Youth Centre so check out the various competitions, movie nights, and themed events scheduled all fall.
Friday Night Teen Night Check out the Friday Night Teen Nights! The Youth Centre will be open from 6-11pm and will be free-of-charge as usual. Access to the Gymnasium and Pool will begin at 8pm and cost $2. Snacks will be available for purchase at the Youth Centre Concession.
Leave Your Mark Come down and let your artistic side come out while you paint your own poster to hang up at the Centre.

Leadership Opportunities
Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) Have a say in what happens at the Okotoks Youth Centre. We are looking for enthusiastic youth to sit on the Advisory Committee. There are opportunities for event and program planning, fundraising and volunteering! We are looking to revamp our logo and start a blog, there is something for everybody. Volunteer Opportunities Are you looking to help out? Come in and volunteer during our weekly scheduled Tween Time for 8 – 11 year olds and/or special events that happen year round. Give back to your community by helping out at the Okotoks Youth Centre! Peer Tutoring The Peer Tutoring Program is for junior and senior high students who would benefit from some extra help with a difficult subject. We are looking for senior high students to tutor junior high students in areas where they need additional help. If you are interested in making someone’s school year more successful or to acquire volunteer hours then contact the Okotoks Youth Centre to become a tutor today! |
