Water Park Fun:
Play fun water games and get your questions
answered about the Water Rebate program. 1 PM-4 PM, Water Spray Park, Rec Centre, 99 Okotoks Dr.
Sunday, June 2:
Clothing Exchange, E-cycle, & Hazardous Waste Drop-off:
Donate your used clothing and electronics. And drop off empty bottles of
cleaning products, anti-freeze, paint cans, etc. for safe disposal! 9 AM-5 PM,
Curling Rink, Rec Centre, 99 Okotoks Dr.
Tuesday, June 4
Reducing Waste: Free morning coffee/hot chocolate for
students who bring a reusable mug to school! Submit ideas to the “Green Idea
Challenge” for a chance to win a prize. 8 AM - 9 AM, Holy Trinity Academy &
Foothills Composite High School. Afternoon Crafts: Paint your reusable grocery bags to use in
the fight against evil plastic bags! 1-3 PM, Sheep River Park (next to Rich’s Playground) Wednesday, June 5: World Environment Day!Bicycle Workshop: Learn about environmentally friendly
methods of transportation. Plus local experts from Wheel Life Cyclery will
teach you how to do your own quick fixes on your green machine! 5-8 PM, Sheep River Park (next to Rich’s Playground) Garden Fun: Decorate your recycled containers and fill them
with native plant seeds! Supplies provided. 5-8 PM, Sheep River Park (next to Rich’s Playground) Thursday, June 6Xeriscaping Tips: Learn ideas, tips, tricks and water-wise
landscaping tecnhiques for your garden. Plus discuss the best products on the
market. 10 AM-3 PM, Outside Home Hardware, 121 Fisher St. Movie Night: Free, family-friendly movie! Bring your own
container for unlimited free popcorn. 5-6:30 PM, Rotary Performing Arts Centre,
3 Elma St. Friday, June 7Renewable Energy Day: A fun day of exercise and education in
the park. Parents―relax in nature with a free yoga class, while fun crafts keep
your kids busy! Then check out the alternative energy and sustainability booth.
1 PM-2 PM, Ethel Tucker Park, Riverside Drive West. Saturday, June 8BBQ and Recycling Centre Appreciation Day: Lasso your
recyclables and join us for a free BBQ and fun outdoor games to celebrate our
local heroes―all the residents and staff who are dedicated to recycling!
