Embrace Your Community
Become a Volunteer!
Town of Okotoks Volunteer Registry
The Town of Okotoks Volunteer Registry can help to connect you to a person or non-profit organization that needs your help. Volunteers complete an application form, are interviewed and then connected with a volunteer opportunity that will fit in with their schedules and utilize their skills. There are many ways to be involved in the community. If you don't see a position under the Volunteer Opportunities section that interests you, call and we will find one to suit you.

Okotoks Volunteer Services also recruits opportunities for volunteers. Does your business, agency, group, organization or non-profit need volunteers? We will refer volunteers to you to help support you in an area you need. Let us build connections, utilize skill sets and get people involved in their community. Call us with your volunteer opportunities today and we will list them on our website and in our bi-weekly volunteer ad in the Western Wheel.

Volunteer Managers Meetings
Anyone who is involved with recruiting and/or managing volunteers is most welcome to join this group. Guest speakers are invited to address topics of interest to those attending. Resources from the Volunteer Manager's Library are reviewed. Networking enables organizations to support one another. Meetings are held quarterly and held in different locations.  If you are interested in attending one of these meeting please contact the Volunteer Administrator at 403-938-8936 or by email volunteer@okotoks.ca
Voluntree Grove
To celebrate International Year of Volunteers in 2001, a Voluntree Grove was established adjacent to the Okotoks Community Garden. This is an ongoing project to honour volunteers and community organizations. The Voluntree Grove also serves as an arboretum to demonstrate trees that require little maintenance and grow well in Okotoks. If you would like to honour a volunteer with a tree in the Voluntree Grove, call Town of Okotoks Open Spaces at 403-938-8031. Staff will help you to select a tree, handle the purchase and planting, and install your commemorative plaque. Cost is $200.00 plus the cost of the plaque.
Volunteer Opportunities for Young People
Be a part of shaping your future! Many schools and community organizations are now requiring young people to volunteer. Often volunteer experience encourages you to look at options that you haven't considered before. College and University applications may require volunteer experience as a condition of acceptance.
