Community Access Program

Subsidized Transportation for Seniors and Persons with Disabilities
The Town of Okotoks wishes to ensure that Okotoks residents who are seniors (60 years of age and over) and persons with disabilities are able to remain active participants in the community. A subsidy is provided to the taxi companies for each trip taken, to provide users with a reduced taxi fare.

Taxi users who qualify for this reduced rate must have a current Community Access Program Identification Card. The Community Access Program has a limited budget. It is not funded sufficiently to provide daily trips for everyone. Receipts are reviewed every month. Individuals will be notified, by letter, if the number of trips taken is more than the budget allows. Taxi users will show their card to the driver and sign a receipt at the end of each trip.

If you wish to apply for a Community Access Program Identification Card please:
  1. Contact the FCSS Assistant at 403-995-2773 or email fcss@okotoks.ca; or
  2. Visit the Okotoks Municipal Centre, 5 Elizabeth St. to receive an application form; or
  3. Download and complete the Community Access Program Form (43 KB)

Completed application forms should be dropped off at the Family and Community Support Services office, located in the Okotoks Recreation Centre at 99 Okotoks Drive.
