What Can Be Recycled & Where?

Recycling is the key to manage household waste.  Statistics Canada found that 98% of Canadian households recycle when recycling is provided as an option.  For more information click here.

To ensure no recyclable material goes to waste and ends up in the landfill unnecessarily, here's a guide to materials that are recyclable and where they can be taken:

FRWMF - Foothills Regional Waste Management Facility (landfill)
Located on Highway 783 (16 St E).

Hours: Open Monday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Tuesday & Wednesday, 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Please arrive half an hour before closing time to give you enough time to empty your vehicle.
The landfill is CLOSED on Sunday and all Statutory Holidays.
Excessive rain may make access by 2-wheel drives difficult.
What is accepted:
No charge items such as antifreeze, fluorescent light bulbs, household hazardous waste, paint, tires, used oil & filters; electronics such as cell phones/batteries, computer monitors, CPU's, keyboards, laptops, printers, TVs

Donation of Clothing in good condition may be taken to:

  • Bibles for Mission (call 403-995-8099 for appt)
  • Suds Car Wash (clothing bin – east side of large truck bay)
  • Foothills Centennial Centre (clothing bins behind building – east side)
  • The Town plans to host a clothing/electronics exchange as part of Environment Week in June. Stay tuned for details!
