Councillor Laurie Hodson

Laurie Hodson

Laurie has been a resident of Okotoks for 24 years. He has a B.A. (University of B.C. Economics), post graduate Financial Management and Certification re: Compensation and Strategic Human Resource Management. He transferred to Calgary from Toronto as a pension consultant employed by William M. Mercer Limited followed by years of employment by TransAlta Corporation and The City of Calgary in a similar capacity. He has since retired.

Laurie since consulted for public municipal and school board associations as owner and operator of his own Okotoks-based company. He is now retired for a second time.  Laurie is married to Gail with three children and five grandchildren.

Laurie has served five terms (1992-2007) on Okotoks Town Council; chairman, Okotoks Finance and Budget Committee, Foothills Regional Emergency Medical Services, Foothills Regional Services Commission, Tri-Community Economic Development Steering Committee; member of Turner Valley Gas Plant Panel and numerous municipal committees. He most recently contributed to his community as a member of the Active Creative Engaged Okotoks (ACE) Steering Committee. Laurie is pleased to once again be able to serve on Town Council.
