The Town of Okotoks offers a water conservation rebate program to incent and reward residents for their efforts towards water conservation. Rebates of 50% on approved water conservation purchases are available for Town of Okotoks residential property owners until the $50,000 budget is depleted.
The rebate program runs between May 1, 2013 until October 31, 2013, or as funds are available. Funds will be distributed on a ‘first come, first serve' basis. Residents may submit an application for eligible purchases that were made prior to the launch of the program, from January 1, 2013 onwards.
The following items are approved for rebates:

- Any type of residential or commercial rain barrel at any price.
- A 50% rebate per rain barrel up to a maximum of $50/rain barrel and a maximum of $100/household.

Inorganic Mulch |
- All forms of organic and inorganic mulch that are used for landscaping: Organic examples: bark shavings, nuggets, woodchip mixes, etc. Inorganic Examples: rock mixes, gravel, shale, etc.

Note: The purpose of the mulch must be to provide landscaping in areas that may normally be turf to reduce a need for water and must be permeable.

A 50% rebate for total cost of purchase up to a maximum rebate of $200 per household.

Drought Tolerant Ground

- Drought tolerant grass seed, sod and hydro-seed are eligible for the rebate program if their composition consists of less than 30% of Kentucky Blue Grass.
- Note: The resident must have proof of composition. If the mix is not indicated on the bag, please provide the customer with an ingredients list from the supplier.
- A 50% rebate for total cost of purchase up to a maximum rebate of $200 per household.

Program Terms:
- You must be a registered property owner in the Town of Okotoks and have purchased an eligible item for the 2013 Rebate Program.
- The rebate is offered on a first-come, first-served basis as received (date stamped) by the Town of Okotoks until program completion or the funding has been exhausted.
- Rebates are paid through the resident's Town of Okotoks bi-monthly utility bill.
- The Town of Okotoks is not responsible for the items purchased for the 2013 Rebate Program.
- The Town of Okotoks reserves the right to inspect premises to confirm purchases.
- The Town of Okotoks is not responsible for the disposal or removal of items.
- This program may be discontinued at any time without notice.
